Earth Atlantis Brings Unique Visuals to Underwater Combat

Headup Games announced upcoming shooter Earth Atlantis will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during Q2 2018.
The game originally released last fall on the Nintendo Switch. It won the “Vermillion Gate” during the 5th BitSummit 2017 in Kyoto and the “Excellence in Art” Award during the BIC Festival 2016 in Busan.
Earth Atlantis takes place after “The Great Climate Shift” which hit the Earth at the end of the 21st century. 96 percent of the Earth’s surface became submerged, causing the downfall of human civilization. Machines are now at the top of the food chain, taking on the form of marine animals.
Players can take control of four different ships, each with their own unique weapons. As a side-scrolling shooter, players will hunt down 25 mechanical sea monsters while exploring the underwater ruins of post-apocalyptic landmarks. New ships can be unlocked through gameplay and there are four enemy ships to hunt as well.
Pixel Perfex developed the game using a visual style reminiscent of old sketches used in the 14th century. In those days, the ocean was vast and unexplored and seafarers thought the deep waters were inhabited by dangerous creatures. Called an “old sketching” visual style, Earth Atlantis will prominently feature sepia tones with black and grey animation.
